The Attendance Policy of Arzana Private School outlines the expectations and guidelines for students’
regular attendance, emphasizing its importance for academic success and personal development. This
policy establishes clear procedures for tracking attendance, managing absences, and encouraging
punctuality, aiming to create a supportive and engaging learning environment. By setting standards for
attendance, the policy seeks to ensure that students gain maximum benefit from their education, stay
connected with their peers, and develop a sense of responsibility and commitment to their learning.
The Attendance Policy includes guidelines for reporting absences, addressing tardiness, and defining
consequences for excessive absences, all in alignment with local education authority requirements.
Objectives
The objectives of the Attendance Policy include:
1. Ensure regular attendance to support continuous learning and academic achievement.
2. Foster punctuality and consistency, helping students build essential habits for future success.
3. Promote engagement in the school community, encouraging relationship-building and
collaboration.
4. Reduce absenteeism and tardiness to maintain a steady learning pace and classroom continuity.
5. Engage parents in supporting regular attendance, reinforcing the partnership between home
and school.
6. Adhere to attendance requirements set by educational authorities to maintain the school’s
operational and performance standards.
Procedure:
1. Attendance Requirements:
• All students are expected to attend school daily and arrive on time – 7:20 am.
• A minimum attendance rate of 90% is required to meet academic standards and participate in
end-of-term assessments, per ADEK guidelines.
• Daily attendance is recorded on eSIS, by the School Social Worker.
2. Absence Reporting:
• Parents/guardians must inform the school of any absence by 7:30 AM on the day of absence,
providing a valid reason.
• Absences for medical reasons must be supported by a doctor’s note if they exceed three
consecutive days.
• Acceptable reasons for excused absences include illness, family emergencies, and religious
holidays as specified by ADEK.
3. Tardiness and Early Dismissal:
• Students arriving late (after 7:45 am) must check in at the main office and provide a reason. They
will be marked as Late. Frequent tardiness may result in corrective measures.
• Early dismissal requests (before 2:00 pm) require prior parental permission and approval from
school administration.
4. Excessive Absences
• If a student’s absences exceed 10% of school days, a meeting with parents is required to discuss
attendance concerns and potential interventions.
• Excessive unexcused absences may impact the student’s academic record, promotion eligibility,
and participation in school activities.
5. Parental Involvement
• Parents are encouraged to support their child’s regular attendance and communicate any issues
impacting attendance with the school.
• The school will provide regular updates on attendance and work collaboratively with families to
address attendance challenges.
This policy ensures that all students at Arzana Private School have the best opportunity to benefit
from a continuous and uninterrupted educational experience, fostering success and well-being in
alignment with ADEK standards.
